Kids birthday’s always bring me so much joy. I love celebrating their milestone and birthday each year. We are pretty lucky, there are quite a few great places for kids birthday parties in Darwin. Leanyer Recreation Park
Leanyer Recreation Park is a great place and is always a popular option for kids birthday parties in Darwin all year round. There is a lagoon swimming area, wet playground for all ages, three large waterslides for the bigger kids and dry playground. It is FREE to use all the facilites. There are many shelters and seating set ups, bbqs and grassy areas for parties. You can’t reserve barbecues, shaded areas and tables. These are available on a first in first served basis. The wet playground starts from 10am so best to set up early. The big water slides open from 11am on weekends

Palmerston Water park
Also a great option for birthday parties in Palmerston area is the Palmerston water park. It features a 14m high, 100m long, six-lane racer water slide. Great for kids to race each other. There are minimum height requirements. There is a wet play area for families and toddlers and shallow wading pools. There is bbqs and shaded picnic areas for parties. You can’t reserve barbecues, shaded areas and tables. These are available on a first in first served basis. The water slide opens from 11am on weekends and wet play areas open from 10am on weekends.

The Playshack is families number one choice in Palmerston, Darwin and the Top End when it comes to fun filled indoor entertainment and adventure for kids. Howard Springs Nature Reserve
A lovely spot for those with younger children, babies and toddlers to hold a party is Howard Springs. The shallow pools are great for this age group. There are bbq facilities, seating, toliets and grassy areas to set up a party. There can be mozzies and bugs so ensure you pack the spray and be aware birds do try and come get your food so don’t leave things out.

Playgrounds with faciliites
Another great option for a kids birthday parties in Darwin is one of our many playgrounds that have facilities like BBQ’s, shelters/shade and seating areas. My top recommendations for playgrounds for parties include Jingli Water Gardens, Anula playground, East point reserve, Zuccoli village, and the Esplanade. You can read more about each of the playgrounds on their webpage. I have held a few parties at Anula and Jingli and they have always been a hit. Jingli there is a large grassy hill you can also set up your own slip and slide if you wish.
Berry Springs Nature Park
Depending on the time of year another lovely place to have get together or party is Berry Springs. Enjoy a swim and a picnic/bbq with friends and family. Note Berry Springs is not open all year round to swim. Check this website to see if it is open.

Council community halls
The City of Darwin and City of Palmerston have a number of community hall spaces available to hire for a fee, if you are looking for a larger space, air conditioned and indoor venue (especially in the Wet and build up months). Make sure you book ahead to avoid disappoointment as they can book out. A great option with these community halls to hire toys and items from Darwin Toy Library

Darwin Free Spirit Resort
Darwin Free Spirit resort can host small or larger parties. They have a pool and seating areas near the pool that can be set up for your party. They can accommodate outdoor events and have a number of areas available to suit both large and small groups.
Surrounded by lush greenery, their Gazebo Gardens are great for large groups, whilst their terrace & poolside marquees (both located next to the sparkling Lagoon Pool) are best suited for big and small gatherings. You can get your party catered with some platters by the Elements restaurant located on site.
